Calamba General Hospital

Principal Architect: Tim Reynaldo

Lot Area:

Floor Area:

A proposed tropical biophilic hospital, where healing harmonizes with nature through a modern brutalist design responsive to the local climate. The exterior features raw concrete surfaces adorned with lush greenery, creating a soothing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Inside, natural light floods through large windows, highlighting interior gardens and water features that promote tranquility and well-being.

Patient rooms are designed for comfort and serenity, with views of landscaped gardens or soothing water elements. The central atrium serves as a communal space, blending natural materials like wood and stone with minimalist design elements. The spaces inside encourage relaxation and social interaction, essential for holistic healing.

The hospital design embraces sustainability with passive cooling techniques and rainwater harvesting. Every aspect of the design aims to enhance the healing process, creating a sanctuary where nature and architecture come together for one’s well-being.
