This modern minimalist residence sits in a 300 sqm prime plot of land near Tomas Morato, Quezon City and was visualized as a house that would represent the owner’s values of family and love for nature, particularly plants. The main objectives of the owner was to provide parking spaces for at least 5 cars on the ground floor; one of the floors to be dedicated to gatherings and special events; and three floors for the living spaces and bedrooms.
A courtyard acting as a void that goes through the upper floors was designed as the core of the structure. It visually unifies the upper four levels and acts as the main passageway where landings for the stairs and elevator meet. This void is both an indoor and outdoor space. Indoor because it is accessed through the main door, and outdoor because it is not surrounded with walls nor windows. It encourages natural ventilation and receives natural light through the horizontal louvers that helps reduce glare and direct sunlight.
